Draw Muhammed Day 2015 – on Parliament Hill, Ottawa

UPDATE:  FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN CANADA HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!!

International Draw Muhammed Day 2015

DESPITE HAVING RECEIVED APPROVAL FOR THIS EVENT FROM THE RCMP HILL SECURITY LAST WEEK, LESS THAN 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE EVENT, A BUREAUCRAT FROM CANADIAN HERITAGE HAD CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO SECURITY CONCERNS.  PLEASE, DO NOT COME TO TRY TO EXERCISE YOUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN CANADA – THE BUREAUCRATS HAVE CANCELLED IT!!!

Date:  Wednesday, 20th of May, 2015

Time:  13:00 to 15:00

Place:  Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Canada

Come and join us in drawing Muhammed, the Pope’s Mother, Buddha with headphones and or any other religious/political figure!

Let’s exercise our freedom to blaspheme – while we still can!!!

We will meet at 13:00 hours (1pm) at the Eastern Entrance to the Parliament Hill, because this is the entrance that the October 22nd, 2014 shooter had entered The Hill from after shooting Sgt. Cirillo at the War Memorial.

Then we will walk up along the route the shooter had taken and set up a table on the North-Western corner of the front lawn (just before the shrubbery) at about the half-way point between the two shootings.  (If it is wet and rainy, we will put up a tent, so we can actually produce art and Draw cartoons/pictures.)

And we will exercise our freedom to blaspheme any and every religion we wish!!!

Come one, come all!

Tell your friends!

And let’s prove that freedom of speech still trumps all religious blasphemy laws in the beautiful, wonderful Magna Carta country of ours!!!

UPDATE:

RISE CANADA has been kind enough to put up a Facebook event page for this event:  please, share and spread the word!

I hope that you will go ahead with the draw Mohamed day To hell with the dhimmi’s! If I was in Ottawa I would be there for sure!

    Wow, what a crying shame.

    “Cancelled due to security concerns.”

    What utterly vacuous bollocks!

    I would proceed anyway.

And as for the bureaucrat, just tell him your security is not his concern.

    Parliament Hill is public land.

You have as much right to be there as anyone else.

And to draw anything you want while there, or anywhere else.

Just make sure to have a news crew standing by, so if they violate your rights by force, we can all see on the six o’clock news just how little freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and freedom of association have come to mean in this pathetic shadow of a once-free country.

      CodeSlinger,

having a professional news crew – or even a professional photographer – onsite would violate the ‘rules of use’ of Parliament Hill!!!

Any speech that needs to be government bureaucrat approved is, by definition, not ‘free speech’.

And I have just proved that, 800 years after Magna Carta, we have lost our heritage!!!!!

      Xanthippa:

      Exactly right.

Speech that is subject to approval is not free.

Assembly that is subject to permission is not free.

      CANADA. IS. NOT. FREE.

What’s stopping us from going down and doing it anyway? Why the need for a permit? There’s nothing stopping the people who are there from recording the events on their camera phones and if the press catches wind of the event without having been invited then surely we can’t be held responsible for their presence?

    • xanthippa Says:

Ah, but this is ‘death by regulation’ time!

In order to hold an event on Parliament Hill, you need a permit.

In order to get a permit, you need to comply with a many-pages-long ‘rules of use’ thingy, including not having any professional videographers/photographers on hand to record the event.

Each and every one of your speakers has to be vetted by the bureaucrats.

The subject of each and every one of their speeches has to be reviewed and vetted by the same…

If you do not get their permission, you will be ‘trespassing’ – and subject to arrest on ‘non-political grounds’.

Which leaves one to ask: is it ‘freedom of speech’ if all that is said has to be pre-approved by the government?!?!?

  6. Paranthropus Says:

What I am saying is why make it an ‘event’ at all? Go to the Hill and start drawing. When people ask what you are doing, tell them. If your friends want to record it they can do so. You can still announce on your blog that you will be there.
