As proud as I am to be a Canadian – a Canadian by choice, not trough an accident of birth, by the way – this particular Canada Day deeply pains me.
Why?
Because today, Omar Khadr, that terrorist, that criminal – the man who had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity and, in my never-humble-opinion, treason against Canada and all of us Canadians, may be free to walk among us.
Sad…so sad…and more than a little bit angry, too!
Happy Canada Day…
