MSMF Picnic 2015 in on June 27th – a most delicious way to help people

This is a most awesome cause – with the most delicious food ever.

MSMF is a very worthy charity, turning tragedy into hope.  They have been holding their fundraising picnic for 21 years…and I remember going to them, from the very first one, which was held at my friend’s backyard…

But, their flyer says it all:

MSMF Annual Picnic 2015

It seems that WordPress has, in their wisdom, done some awesome improvements to their site….and until I re-learn the system, I seem unable to embed things – like the MSMF most awesome poster (which says it all).  my apologies – please, see the flyer here.

So, please, do follow the link…

In the meantime, here is some of the most important information:

It will be held at the Andrew Haydon Park – and while it’s an all day even, with entertainment and lots of fun, the food will start being served at 11:30am.

24 hours for MSF/Doctors Without Borders – 8/9th September 2012

Ok, this is a bit of an advanced notice, but the largest amount of funds has, in the past, been raised by the online auction – and this is a call for donation of items to that auction.

Thus, the very advanced notice.

But, why don’t I let DPR Jones say it – he is much more eloquent than I:

I don’t quite know what – yet, but I plan to donate something…  As I have already promised to donate my painting of Aisha to the Free Thinking Film Society fundraiser, I’ll have to think of something else:  suggestions for the subject of a painting are welcome!

What do you do if terrorists killed your family?

Unfortunately, I know someone in that situation…

His wife, daughter and son were all killed in a terrible terrorist attack.

I suspect that if I were in that position, I would simply crumple up and die inside – and, perhaps, outside.

Yet, one Canadian doctor turned his personal tragedy around and founded a way to make his family’s memory live on through his charitable work.

He is a true-life hero.

On Saturday, 23rd of June, 2012, at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, from 11am to 5pm, all kinds of people from Ottawa will be donating food and their efforts in an Indian Food Fair fundraiser for his charities.

He delivers the charity himself – so, if you want to contribute to help the poorest of the poorest in this world without needing to worry about fraud taking a huge chunk of your contributions, this is your chance!

Or, if you love Indian food and want the best, most authentic Indian food ever – this is your opportunity!!!

Or, if you just want to come for the multicultural fun and drop a looney or twooney into the donation box, this is your chance!!!

I, for one, would not miss if for the world!

Shoot ’em up – for charity!

Oh, this is cool!

‘Mojang has one weekend to make your game — live! The indie studio Mojang will be livestreaming all the glory and drama of making a brand new game in 60 hours. Based on a poll of more than 100,000 users, Mojang is tackling a real-time strategy shoot ’em up with a steampunk ancient Egypt theme!

Pay-what-you-want for the game any time during the jam.

If you are not familiar with Humble Bundle, it is the best way to fight online piracy:  make it easy to legally buy games online, pay what you think is fair.

Of course, everybody is familiar with Mojang – the creators of MineCraft…
